QUALITY HIRE GEAR

We know the key to a better Kepler, Routeburn or Milford Track experience is having the right hire gear.

Our small Easyhike team are all Kiwis - born and bred, who grew up in the outdoors (our youngest member has just started his outdoors journey - and he is just 1!). We love to be out there doing it and are passionate about helping you have the best outdoor experience possible as well.   Tried and tested, we have hand picked our hire gear including backpacks, sleeping bags, rain jackets and more so you have what you need out there in our back yard - Fiordland National Park.

HOW IT WORKS

We deliver your hire gear the night before (to Queenstown or Te Anau),
You go hiking, and drop your hire gear back to us in Te Anau or Glenorchy which is on your way to your next stop.
*Sorry - we do not hire individual items.  However you can hire just the essentials - so we know you have the right gear out there.

HIRE GEAR - ESSENTIALS

This is the hire gear we consider to be essential for your walk - the usuals that for your own comfort and safety, you can't go without.

  • Quality, lightweight,  adjustable and gender specific 50-75 litre Osprey backpack with pack cover and pack liner.
  • Warm and lightweight Sea to Summit sleeping bag and stretchy bag liner - very comfortable with great warmth to weight ratio.  Most of our bags are Trek ii (Sea 2 Summit Trek ii Specs)
  • Rain jacket - Our jackets are mostly Marmot, The North Face, and Stoney Creek with rain and breathability rating of at least 10,000 mm.
  • Cooking/eating equipment – top of the line, lightweight Sea to Summit pot, bowls, mugs and knife/fork spoon sets plus scrubber and cloth.
  • LED LENSER head lamp
  • First Aid kit

If you have your own rain jacket which has an appropriate rain rating and also breathability (we recommend a rain and breathability rating minimum of 10,000 mm) this is fine for you to take on the trail -  you are used to wearing it, it fits perfectly and it's yours. You may also want to take your own head torch - no problem.  If this is the case, just tell us.

HIRE GEAR - PREMIUM

Essentials gear, plus a few items which are nice to have and may well just top off your experience - especially if you are new to staying in a wilderness hut with no electricity or shower facilities.  NOTE: Only available as part of our Premium Package.
